Welcome to Confi-dance a theatre project for children. Drama is an excellent way to address social issues and enable children to express their frustrations and confusions - and perhaps help them to understand and learn to cope with unwelcome situations. It can be a wonderful aid to teaching children life skills, communication skills and, not least, socialising skills. Music and dance frees the spirit and brings out the creative forces. The classes involve different aspects of the dramatic & dance techniques including improvisation, role play, singing, choreography, skills in contemporary, jazz, ballet & tap, & voice work in order to enhance the children’s imagination, improve concentration, co-ordination & build confidence. The children are encouraged to enhance their skills through team work and exploring their own individual strengths within the theatre by devising projects which may include script writing, directing & performing. For those who are stage shy although they are encouraged to do so, they have the choice as individuals whether they want to participate in the final performance or not.
